You can permanently delete your DLM account directly from the app. No need to email us, no waiting, no friction we put in your way.
How to delete
- Open DLM.
- Tap the Settings tab (gear icon, bottom right).
- Scroll to the bottom.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the alert that appears.
You'll be signed out immediately and returned to the welcome screen.
What gets deleted
- Your profile (display name, email, role)
- Your pairing relationship
- Your request history (reasons, decisions, notes)
- Your APNs push token
- Your subscription state on our servers (the Apple-side subscription you manage separately — see below)
- Any reports you've filed (kept anonymously for audit purposes per the privacy policy)
What doesn't get deleted by tapping the button
- Your Apple subscription. Deleting your DLM account doesn't cancel an active DLM Premium subscription — Apple handles those. Open iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → DLM Premium → Cancel.
- Your buddy's data. If you delete, your buddy will see they're no longer paired with you and is free to pair with someone else.
- Anonymous crash logs. If we have any (we don't ship third-party crash tooling), they're rotated after 30 days regardless.
How quickly does it happen
The button triggers the deletion immediately. Most data is gone from our active database within seconds. Backup snapshots may retain copies for up to 30 days before they roll off — after that, it's gone for good.
Can I export my data first?
Yes. Email hello@dontletme.app from the address tied to your account before you delete. We'll send you a JSON export of everything we hold about you within a few business days. That's free, and you don't need to wait — you can delete first if you'd rather, but the data is gone after that.
Changed your mind right after?
If you tap Delete by accident, contact us within 30 days via support. We may be able to restore your account from a backup snapshot if it hasn't rolled off yet. No promises beyond that window.
